History

The military installation of Camp Baharia Marine Corps Base started as a resort that is frequented by the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party. In the year 1966, the Ba'ath Party was disbanded. Thus, the activities of the Arab Socialist stopped and they abandoned the area. After the abandonment, the Camp Baharia Marine Corps Base was renovated and developed as a resort. Many Arabian elites and socialites have visited the area. It became one of the most popular resorts in Iraq. The ambience in the area is relaxing and everyone wants to stay in the resort.
