Selfridge ANGB (Air National Guard Base) is one of the oldest Air Force bases in the United States and one of the 32 airfield training camps established during World War I after the entry of the United States in this military conflict. It is located in Harrison Township, a census designated place (CDP) and a charter township on the western shoreline of Lake St. Clair in Macomb County, Michigan. During World War II, Selfridge ANGB hit another important milestone serving as training facility for the Tuskegee Airmen, an all-African American Air Force unit that contributed to make military racial segregation to come to an end. From the Cold War era to the present time, this Air Force has continued with its mission to provide excellent training to the flying missions sent to this place.

Units: Selfridge ANGB is a joint DHS and DoD installation, home to the 127th Wing of the Michigan Air National Guard that is permanently stationed here.

Housing: Selfridge ANGB has the only government-owned family housing complex in the Detroit area located inside the base, which is nicknamed "The home of the Generals," being the sole facility, which has housed 150 military Generals until today. However, there is no on post lodging for newcomers right away, and therefore it is recommended to book a local hotel.
