History

This installation was once an active training center during both the World Wars. It was named after the Confederate General Robert E. Lee. It was during World War II that this place housed a Quartermaster Board for development and Research, a Technical Center and Quartermaster Replacement Training Center. In 1905, this installation, a camp back then, got re-designated to Fort Lee.

It was later in the year 1941 when the Quartermaster School left Philadelphia and was welcomed Camp Lee as its new location. It was because of the Quartermaster Training Center that this place carried out intense training programs for the Quartermaster Corps. It was then in 1962 that Fort Lee headquartered Quartermaster Corporations followed by starting to report to the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command in 1973.
