This Army Garrison is home in Macomb County, in Warren, Michigan. It is commonly referred to as USAG-DTA. The city of Warren is a home to residential communities as well as manufacturing companies only a few miles north of Detroit. The TACOM is the major command on the base which combines all the organizations that center on the vehicle ground. The TACOM LCMC includes integrated logistics, acquisition center, program executive office combat support, program executive office ground combat systems, executive office combat service support and program executive office soldier.

Youth Programs: There are no on base youth programs; however, youth are encouraged to become involved in off site programs including Anchor Bay Middle School south and Mt. Clemens Middle School located in the Selfridge area. Family Readiness Center: Not really called a Family Readiness Center but is made up of many different centers for Family and MWR. There is no address listed for the DFMWR office but their hours are 0720-1600 Monday thru Friday and they can be contacted at 586-282-0992. Employment: Civilian employment is often service members that are from Auburn Hills, Sterling Heights, Detroit, and Southfield.

Base Services: The services offered at the base include the MWR facilities, one commissary, one exchange system, and one financial institution on Selfridge.

History

The very first Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant was built on this location in 1940 which was the very first manufacturing plant for the sole purpose of creating tanks in the United States. In 1996, the manufacturing plant was closed but the Detroit Army Arsenal that was adjacent to the plant stayed in operation. The USAG-DTA was created in 1971 as an accessory to the 28th Artillery Group located on the Selfridge ANGB. The main goal of the base was to provide support for detachments as well as manage and maintain base housing along with ensuring moral support activities were provided.
